19. Please suggest topics or speakers that we should consider for next year's ProFusion Conference:
#Response
1Affinity programs, are they good or bad.
1Anything related to web communications.
1Building lifelong relationships - from student to alumnus Trends in and strategies for alumni engagement
1Event Planning/Using different styles of events, Communication with Alumni, Increasing Alumni Giving/Attendence
1I believe we need to be more collaborative and that the college system needs to have more of a voice at these conferences. It is really University focused and there doesn't seem be much focus on colleges.
1Independant School's
1It would be great if the CCAE could attract more attendance by independent schools by creating workshops or programs that would address their unique situations.
1More hands-on, topic-focused working groups with colleagues from other institutions.
1Please bring back Christopher Johnston for a full day or two! He was invaluable! He indicated he would post his slides to us...haven't yet received (printed copy hard to read).
1Thank you for caring enough to ask for this! Advancement professionals -- particularly those in Alumni Relations -- impress me with their high degree of personal ownership, creativity and commitment -- not only to the programs they develop or the institutions they serve, but primarily to the individual constituents to whom much of their dedicated, innovative work is enthusiastically directed. Its 'high touch' operations and it can take its toll, as one often feels pulled to serve many masters! So I encourage ProFusion to continue to include topics that help us renew our personal visions and self-worth (if you like). And I'm not referring to those rather outdated philosophies like, "work hard, play hard" or even worse, "work smarter, not harder" (annoying rather than empowering phrase). But I am encouraging ongoing opportunities to hear from one another, to appreciate and acknowledge the individuals and their investment. And to offer topics that help us to stay fresh and inspired as we imagine, create, grow and nurture our communities. And so it means to only addressing topics of professional development, but also work/life balance. (Easier said than done) And no, I don't have any speaker in mind ... but just a general thought to encourage the planners for next year's conference to bear this in mind. I did enjoy Jason Cressey's topic, but was more impressed with Jason personally ... he seems like one who could speak on a variety of topics related to self-care and healthy work/life balances. And I like that he lives rather locally to our regional constitutency.
1There are some really excellent speakers available through Volunteer Vancouver on topics such as Board governance, leadership skills, strategic planning, etc. They are not terribly expensive ($500 for a 3 hour session) and I think they might be worth looking into. I have also suggested this to the committee for the National Conference, so they might be offering something along these lines. If they have, then this suggestion might be altered.

24. Please tell us how we might improve:
#Response
1Having a track for Independant School's could prove to be valuable and hopefully draw more constituents.
1I appreciate the collective efforts of the group! Way to go... would be happy to be part of the organizing team. Stick to topics that are substantial in content.
1More social events - probably adds the most value of all.
1Next year we should add a session for Independent Schools. I think there would be a market for this.
1re. session topics - you (or moderator/speaker) could send an email to participants for each session and ask what particulars concerned/interested them, and tailor the talks, roundtables more particularly to those issues.
1The lunchtime panel was boring and a bit confusing.
1Two days, more practical keynote, more hands-on activities.
25. Please make any additional comments about any of the above or any other aspect of this year's conference:

1Better communication leading up to the event - reminders!
1It was a great team effort, and everyone should be commended for their part.
1LOVED THE SETTING -- I was most impressed with our time at Dunsmuir Lodge. I had planned to by there for the Thurs. evening dinner/session, but personal matters kept me from leaving Vancouver until Friday morning. But it was so convenient to the airport and such excellent food and staff service. Well done planning/organizing team!
1Really enjoyed the location, the topics and the networking opportunities with colleagues. Thanks for the great conference.
1Thanks to everyone who organized it!
1The conference was worth participating in, valuable information gained, wished it could have been a bit more informative but overall satisfied - would attend again. Thanks for all the hard work and organization that went in to this event!!
1The Emotional Intelligence section was REALLY GOOD and usefull and fun. Learned a lot.
1The most valuable part of the experience was the networking opportunity with others in similar positions at like institutions. The 'workshops' and roundtable discussions were very interesting, but it was the frank discussion of the nuts and bolts of how we do WHAT we do that was most helpful.
