Scott Blythe

Scott Blythe has worked in post-secondary environments for the past ten years and began his love affair with student development while completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Saskatchewan. During his time there, he helped to create and implement one of the first and most successful student staffed LGBTQ centres in Canada. Additionally, Scott served on the board of directors for the University of Saskatchewan Students' Union for two consecutive terms as the vice-president of academic affairs.

Scott then packed up and moved his family to Calgary where he took on a newly developed management role with the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology Students' Association and immediately implemented a number of programs aimed at engaging students to participate both within the SAIT Community and beyond. In two and half years Scott and his team created volunteer programming with 70 student volunteer positions and over 200 volunteering opportunities within SAIT and beyond.

Scott is currently employed as the Communications & Outreach Manager for the Student Association of BCIT (BCITSA) and has been instrumental in leading the creation of a network of referrals, programming and services for BCIT students. This year, BCITSA has embarked on a new student engagement strategy aimed at helping connect BCIT students to their communities through volunteer efforts and fund / time raising initiatives under the Peak Leadership Program.
