Strategic, collaborative, a natural leader – is this you?
As one of the world’s leading universities, UBC’s vision is to prepare
students to become exceptional global citizens, promote the values of a
civil and sustainable society, and conduct outstanding research to
serve the people of British Columbia, Canada, and the world. With
12,000 employees, 48,000 students, a $1.7-billion budget and two main
campuses, UBC is one of the largest employers in B.C. and is a complex,
dynamic and constantly evolving institution requiring visionary
leadership.
The newly created portfolio of Development and Alumni Engagement (DAE)
plays a key role in delivering UBC’s vision. With over 200 staff, last
year we raised almost $160 million (Cdn.) and delivered one of the most
successful alumni engagement programs in the country. We are now in the
planning stage of a campaign to raise $1 billion-plus, and to double
the number of our alumni engaged in the life of the university.
As the Director of University Partnerships, you will be an essential
and highly valued member of the Alumni Affairs management team. In this
role, you will be responsible for developing, coordinating and
executing plans for a comprehensive and highly-effective series of new
initiatives in building university wide capacity to engage alumni.
Your mandate will include shaping and rolling out the new
constituency-based alumni relations program across the University, and
working with 25 key partners in the setting of alumni engagement goals.
You will also support the work of the Associate Vice President, Alumni
Affairs as leader of the change initiatives aimed at strengthening our
work as the Development & Alumni Engagement portfolio.
As the ideal candidate you have excellent interpersonal and
relationship-building skills, with demonstrated ability in creating
win/win solutions. As well, you are a strategic and creative thinker
and problem-solver, with a strong orientation towards customer service.
