Montréal, June 17, 2004 – Meloche Monnex and the Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education (CCAE) awarded three Meloche Monnex Fellowships in Advancement at the CCAE’s annual conference. The conference, which marked the 11th anniversary of the CCAE, was held at Dalhousie University in Halifax, from June 12 to 15.
The 2004 Fellowship recipients are: Brian Soucie, of Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario; Carly Handel, of the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT); and Janina Crysdale, of Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario. All three recipients will be working in advancement at their alma mater.
Providing opportunities for practical experience in all major areas of advancement
For the sixth consecutive year, since the Fellowships were established in 1999, Meloche Monnex awarded $25,000 to each of three recent university or college graduates. The Fellowships will help these young advancement professionals gain a full year of practical advancement experience at the institution of their choice. The scope of the program was expanded in 2003 to allow recipients the opportunity to gain experience in all major areas of advancement, including alumni affairs, fundraising, communications and student recruitment. Chris D. Daniel, Chairman, and Jean R. Lachance, Executive Chairman, both of the Affinity Market Group at Meloche Monnex, spoke on behalf of the Company at the conference.
