CCAE 2012 Keynote Speakers

INCOMPARABLE KEYNOTES

Four dynamic keynote speakers will personify the themes of Create. Engage. Adapt. Deliver. They illustrate the synergy among these concepts that are at the core of the advancement calling.

Mallika ChopraMallika Chopra

Saturday, June 2

3:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Our Opening Keynote speaker, Mallika Chopra, is the founder of Intent.com, a website focused on personal, social and global wellness. Her intent is to harness the power of social media to connect people from around the world to improve their own lives, their communities and the planet. Her strengths lie in creative content combined with strategic and marketing thinking.

Mallika has served as a spokesperson for UNICEF, raising awareness for orphans affected by HIV and AIDS. She helped launch the Heal The World Foundation with Michael Jackson, was part of the original team to re-launch MTV India, and has produced two movies: The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success and How to Know God, based on books written by her father, author Deepak Chopra. Mallika, a graduate of Brown University, with an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, nimbly links the spiritual, generative and entrepreneurial spheres.

Scott StrattenScott Stratten

Sunday, June 3

8:30 – 9:30 a.m.

Scott Stratten, the President of Un-Marketing, is an expert in Viral, Social, and Authentic Marketing, which he calls Un-Marketing. It's all about positioning yourself as a trusted expert in front of your target market.

Scott's book UnMarketing: Stop Marketing. Start Engaging became a national best-seller before it was released, and recently was a Globe and Mail #1 Business best-seller. Scott's passion comes out most when speaking on stage, preaching engagement and becoming one of the most sought-after speakers on the subject.

Harvey P. WeingartenDr. Harvey P. Weingarten

Monday, June 4

9:00 – 10:00 a.m.

At once irreverent, engaged and philosophical, Dr. Harvey P. Weingarten understands academia from ground level to pinnacle. He became President and CEO of the Higher Education Quality Council of Ontario (HEQCO) on July 1, 2010. Previously, he was President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Calgary from 2001 to 2010. From 1979 to 2001, he was a Professor and Psychology Department head at McMaster University, where he also served as Dean of Science and as Provost and Vice-President (Academic).

Change doesn't come easily to higher education, but "get over it", says Harvey Weingarten. As president and CEO of the Higher Education Quality Council of Ontario, he has a system-wide vantage point that has only sharpened his acuity and his tongue when it comes to driving, or being driven by, change.

Dr. Weingarten will provide CCAE delegates with a road map to major changes underway and on the horizon in Canadian education that may cause bumps in the road for the advancement profession.

Dan PallottaDan Pallotta

Monday, June 4

3:00 – 4:00 p.m.

We close with a dynamic iconoclast. Harvard graduate Dan Pallotta is an expert in nonprofit sector innovation, a pioneering social entrepreneur, and advocate of “radical possibility.” He is the founder of Pallotta TeamWorks, which created the AIDSRides, AIDS Vaccine Rides, African AIDS Trek, and the original Breast Cancer 3-Day walks. These events grossed $556 million in donor contributions and netted $305 million for charity after all expenses in nine years.

Dan is the Author of When Your Moment Comes and Uncharitable, reviewed as "the most courageous and necessary of all the recent books that have been written about philanthropy and the nonprofit sector" (Bill Shore). He is the President of Springboard, which designs brand identities and marketing campaigns for nonprofit and social change organizations.
