CCAE Outstanding Volunteer Award
2011 CCAE Outstanding Volunteer Award
CCAE’s Outstanding Volunteer Award exists to recognize exceptional contributions and achievements by individual volunteers who have advanced the cause and mission of CCAE in Ontario.
The Outstanding Volunteer must have been a volunteer with CCAE over a considerable period (at least 3 – 4 years); embody the values of the CCAE and its member institutions;
and demonstrate achievements and contributions that have had a direct, significant impact on the advancement of the organization.
CCAE is very pleased to present the 2011 Outstanding Volunteer Award to Susan Rankin.
Susan Rankin, Director, Stewardship and Donor Relations at McMaster University, has more than 16 years experience working in university advancement. Prior to joining McMaster in 2006, she spent eight years working in Alumni Relations at the University of Guelph and for five of those years was Director of Alumni Affairs. Currently, Susan leads a team of three people and she is responsible for the overall management of donor relations and principal-level stewardship at McMaster University.
Susan has been involved as a CCAE volunteer since very early in her career – first as a presenter; then as organizer; then on the Board of CCAE –Ontario, where she served as President, and on the CCAE Board of Directors. During those years Susan helped lead many key CCAE activities – Chair of the Summer Institute for New Professionals; member of the Volunteer Management Committee; and co-chair (entering her third year) of CCAE’s awards program Prix d’Excellence.
Many members will remember Susan as the Chair of the 2009 National Conference, hosted in Hamilton Ontario, with McMaster playing a major role. Her organizational, strategic and product knowledge skills are legendary and have been evident in everything Susan has tackled on behalf of CCAE.
Susan Rankin exemplifies an Outstanding Volunteer and CCAE is honoured to recognize her with this Award in 2011.
