Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education (CCAE) celebrates achievements in support of education
June 21, 2010 - A number of prestigious annual awards and fellowships were presented by the Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education (CCAE) at the association’s Awards Gala on June 7, 2010, capping the CCAE annual conference in Victoria, BC (June 5 – 8).
The 2010 Rising Star Award was presented to Janina Ganton, Alumni Relations Officer, Faculties, at Wilfrid Laurier University. Rising Star Awards recognize young professionals already making their mark in the profession of advancement.
The 2010 Manulife Financial Outstanding Achievement Award was presented to Rivi Frankle, Assistant Vice-President, Alumni and Stakeholder Relations, University of Toronto. The Manulife Financial Outstanding Achievement Award recognizes a current or recent CCAE member who has made extraordinary contributions to the field of educational advancement over a number of years.
Maude N. Béland - Université du Québec à Montréal; Michael Duncan - University of British Columbia; and Erica Lind - University of Lethbridge - were each awarded $25,000 TD Insurance Meloche Monnex Fellowships. These Fellowships, funded by TD Insurance Meloche Monnex, offer promising university or college graduates a year-long experience at a host school of working in at least three areas of advancement - which includes alumni relations, fundraising and development, communications, and student recruitment
The Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education (CCAE) is a nonprofit association that promotes excellence in educational advancement. CCAE provides professional development, information on best practices, and opportunities for networking and mutual support for education advancement professionals. CCAE’s 1400 members represent universities, colleges, institutes, independent schools and cégeps across Canada, from Memorial University of Newfoundland in St. John's to the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) in Burnaby.
