Trinity College invites applications for the position of Executive Director of Development and Alumni Affairs. The successful candidate will work in close contact with the Provost, senior staff and senior volunteers, and be responsible for planning and leading development, alumni affairs and outreach activities of the College.
Responsibilities:
• Enhancing the College’s capacity for fundraising by giving vision to, presenting tested strategies and directing the Annual Fund and major fundraising campaigns;
• Taking an active and leading role in solicitation, Major Gifts and Planned Giving;
• Devising and implementing cultivation, stewardship and awareness programs;
• Providing overall direction to Alumni Affairs and its programming and outreach activities both nationally and internationally;
• Working with the Director of Communications to ensure the implementation of a comprehensive communication strategy and the production of the Trinity alumni magazine and effective fundraising material;
• Working with the Executive Committee of the Alumni Association and Development Committee;
• Managing the office and supervising staff.
Qualifications:
• The successful candidate must be a well-organized senior professional, demonstrating superior analytical skills and having the ability to reach out to graduates with a broad range of ages and diverse backgrounds.
• Five to ten years of progressive leadership experience in development and alumni affairs, preferably in a university environment, or have comparable experience in the charitable sector.
• A dynamic growth-oriented individual with exceptional leadership skills and a demonstrated track record of outstanding success in advancement revenue generation.
This position is offered as a five-year contract, renewable, beginning January 1, 2010, or earlier by mutual agreement. Some travel will be required.
