The PRIX D’EXCELLENCE is the annual awards program of the Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education, recognizing outstanding achievements in alumni affairs, public affairs, communications, marketing, development, advancement services, stewardship, student recruitment and overall institutional Advancement.


 

Online entry process opens on February 1, 2013.


 

PLEASE REVIEW THE ENTRY RULES & PROCESS CAREFULLY AS THE PROCESS HAS CHANGED FROM PREVIOUS YEARS.


 

Highlights of the 2013 competition will include:

  • Online submission process, including the ability to upload most entry materials directly to the CCAE office. Some entries REQUIRE hard-copies only, so please read the category descriptions carefully to ensure you send your entry in the required format.
  • ENTRY REPORT: Answer the questions in 2 pages maximum and submit with any appendices.
  • Only CCAE members may submit entries to the Prix d’Excellence program.
  • Institutions are only allowed to submit each entry in ONE category.
  • Winners will be kept secret until the Prix d’Excellence Awards luncheon at the CCAE Annual Conference in St John’s, NL in June 2013. Judging reports will be sent to all entrants after the conference.


 

YOUR PRIX SUBMISSION:


 

Each Prix submission has four (4) components:

  1. On-line Submission Form & Payment
  2. Entry Report– the 2-page narrative that will accompany your submission
  3. Entry – the actual work to be judged
  4. Appendices – supporting materials (please review each category carefully for required materials)


 

GENERAL RULES:


 

PLEASE REVIEW CAREFULLY! All entries, supporting documentation and payments must arrive at the CCAE Office by 5 p.m. EST on Friday, March 8, 2013. Because of the volume of entries we receive for this popular program, THE DEADLINE WILL NOT BE EXTENDED.


 

  1. All entries must be word-processed and legible in order to be judged.
  2. All components of the Prix d’Excellence submission must be received in order to be judged.
  3. Work produced in the calendar year 2012 is eligible.
  4. Work produced in collaboration with an external provider (such as an ad agency or graphic designer) is eligible; however, this should be clearly noted in the entry report.
  5. Please ensure you select the category name and category number on the online Entry Report. You may only submit each entry into one category.
  6. Entries may be submitted in French, in English, or bilingually.
  7. Entries must be made in the name of the institution and contributing department(s).

Review Prix d’Excellence categories carefully.

Many categories have been updated from previous years. Remember that each entry can be submitted in only one category, so choose the category that best fits your submission.

On-line entry process will open on February 1, 2013.

2.

Gather submission info and all appendices.

Review categories carefully for instructions and consider the judging rubric posted online.

3.

Complete the online submission form and pay fees.

All entries will be submitted online using the online registration system.

Your submissions will be uploaded electronically along with your form (unless otherwise noted in the category description), so be sure you have everything ready to complete the process.

Documents that are too large to be uploaded may be mailed to the CCAE National Office. Please mail 5 copies.

Friday, March 8, 2013 by 5 p.m. EST.

Complete the form – be sure to answer all the questions as best you can. Submit this online with your registration and fees.

Additional material(s), appendices

If necessary, you may submit additional information to support your entry.

Submit your completed entries to the CCAE National Office using the online system.

Please follow the instructions to upload your entry to the CCAE Office directly.

Items that cannot be uploaded (due to size, format, etc.) or that are requested in hard copy format, should be mailed directly to the CCAE office. Items must be clearly labelled with the entry name, institution and category number. Please mail 5 copies.

All entries and payments and any additional materials must be received at the CCAE Office by 5 p.m. EST on Friday, March 8, 2013.

7.

Notification of Winners

Winners of the Prix d’Excellence Awards will be announced at the CCAE Annual Conference in St. John’s, NL, June 8 - 10, 2013. Shipping materials (boxes) will be available at the conference to assist in getting your awards home.

Judging reports for all entries will be distributed after the conference.


 

2013 FEES:


 

Each entry must be accompanied by a $75.00 fee (+ applicable taxes, depending on province). Only CCAE members are permitted to submit entries. Payment can be by credit card or cheque. If paying by cheque, allow sufficient time for it to arrive before the Friday, March 8 deadline.
