DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT

DUTIES:

Reporting to and in partnership with the Associate Vice-President, Community Relations, the Director of Development will lead and is supported by a high performing fund development team, as well as fundraising counsel, already in place. The Director of Development will collaborate with senior college leadership and community volunteers to take the College to the next stage in its development function. Key contacts and relationships include the College President, Foundation Board, volunteer Campaign Leadership, other senior administrators and Division staff.

The Director of Development will take ownership of the highly successful Building Communities Through Learning Campaign (BCTL), a $35 million strategic major gifts campaign that is well underway, seeing it through to its successful conclusion. QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Relevant post-secondary education, with a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • In addition, professional accreditation (eg. CFRE, PFP/CFP, APR) would be an asset.
  • Must have 5-7 years experience in fund development and donor engagement, which includes emphasis on multi-million dollar campaigns.
  • A minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience in management and / or leadership roles within business or not-for-profit sector, with proven skills in mentoring and developing highly engaged staff required.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills with highly developed, analytical, and technical skills, including strong attention to detail. Demonstrated proficiency with presentations and public speaking scenarios.
  • Successful candidates will have strong interpersonal, relationship building and conflict resolution skills, with particular experience in dealing with large groups of volunteers.
