Christina Fox (2007)
University of Western Ontario
Christina Fox has been a member of the Alumni Relations team at Western since
2002 and she “hit the ground running” by quickly becoming an important asset
to Western and the Alumni Association. As Student & Young Alumni Outreach
Officer, Christina tackles her projects with passion, creativity and ambition.
Over the past five years Christina achieved an 800% increase in student
and young alumni participation in Western’s Backpack 2 Briefcase event series,
garnering a CCAE Prix d’Excellence Award. She is the Contributing Editor to
Western’s CASE award-winning annual Young Alumni magazine and executes
promotions aimed at students and young alumni that yield more than 21,000
web hits per year. Christina has created new opportunities for current students
and alumni engagement around the world through a steady expansion of Off to
Western events; launch of Six Degrees and Last Lecture; involvement in a premier
awards ceremony for faculty and students; and Western’s Online Mentoring
program and first online career course.
Christina has become the face of Alumni Western for many of Western’s
students, young alumni, and campus and community partners. In addition to her
outstanding contributions at Western, Christina is actively involved with CCAE,
including service on the 10th Anniversary Volunteer Recognition Committee;
speaker at the CCAE National Conference; Summer Institute Co-Chair; CCAE
Prix d’Excellence host and judge; and CCAE-Ontario Board of Directors.
David McBride, Director of Advancement at Bishop’s, states: “Criteria for
the Rising Star Award include words like achievement, accomplishment, volunteer
contributions, and leadership. In five short years, Christina Fox has fulfilled these
criteria repeatedly. She has placed Western as the model institution with respect to
students and young alumni.”
